Eric Sailers has added an article on Closing the Gap to his blog. http://speechlanguagepathologysharing.blogspot.com/ Scroll down to “Such a Wonderful Day.” The video contains video clips from sessions with Sam Sennott, David Niemeijer, and Eric Sailers. The article below the video is an overview of Eric’s first ever Closing the Gap Conference.
Sam Sennott & David Niemeijer are the ones that developed the very popular Proloquo2Go. David is from the Netherlands and for years has produced powerfull Mac software for people with disabilities. Sam is a doctoral student at Penn State University and has become quite a name if the field of assistive technology. If you’re on the QIAT list you already know how helpful and skilful he is.
Eric is a relatively young speech-language pathologist from San Diego, California. My first encounter with Eric was at CSUN 2009. While I interviewed a couple of vendor presentations at the conference, Eric was much more productive. He drove to Los Angeles for the conference for one day and took multiple vendor videos on a tiny camcorder. He then drove home that night and put all of the interviews up on his blog and YouTube before dawn – wow! Eric’s blog is full of interesting work and I continue to follow him. After reading his blog post on CTG 2009, I would recommend that you scroll on down into the blog to see other entries.
