Special Section 508 sessions, an exciting program with prominent and informed presenters, extended early-bird deadline, special discounts for agencies and other organizations, a wide range of current technology on display from leading Accessible Technology companies (with experts there to answer your questions and provide training), and one of the world's best "destination locations." All are part of ATIA 2002.
So, be sure to mark your calendars and get your registration in the mail for ATIA 2002, January 16-19, 2002 in Orlando, FL. The early bird deadline, allowing you to take advantage of a $50 discount on conference registration, has been extended to December 15.
If you're affiliated with a school district, agency, company or other organization that expects to send four or more people to the ATIA Conference 2002, there's also a special money-saving "Associate Partner" opportunity available (described at the end of this memo).
This year's conference promises to be the best yet, with more than 70 assistive technology exhibitors and featured speakers including:
ATIA 2002 will also include 50 professional non-vendor and 70 vendor presentations in addition to those given by the speakers above. Topics include Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Blindness and Low Vision, Computer Access and Learning Disabilities and Environmental Aids to Daily Living.
This year's conference also includes a separate track dedicated to discussions and presentations on issues surrounding Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. How will government purchasing agencies, EIT companies, and AT vendors understand and meet the requirements of Section 508? Are there uncertainties and ambiguities, and how will they be addressed? Join us in Orlando to "learn from the experts" in government and industry, as well as have a forum to express your ideas and suggestions. A more detailed agenda is available on 508-related sessions. A copy can be obtained by email request to ATIA@LIAA.com.
Occupational and physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, teachers and other AT professionals will receive a certificate of attendance at the conclusion of the Conference. ATIA thanks the Communication Aid Manufacturers Association (CAMA), which is approved by the Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to offer continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and audiology.
The ATIA 2002 pre-conference is offered for up to 0.6 CEUs and the conference is offered for up to 2.2 CEUs (Various level; Professional area). ASHA approval of CE Provider status does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures. Attendees who do not participate in every CEU-approved session of the Pre-Conference or Conference will receive partial credit of less than 2.8 CEUs. CAMA, a non-profit organization, charges a $10 per participant administration fee for processing ASHA CEU forms. For additional CE information, please call 877-687-2842.
Early bird registration is $295, with the full fee for conference registration (payable after December 15) $345. Pre conference registration is $215. For more information about ATIA 2002, including a complete list of presentations, please visit the ATIA web site at www.atia.org, or call 1-877-OUR-ATIA (687-2842).
And, as we mentioned above, there's a special money-saving opportunity available for school districts, agencies, companies, or other organizations sending four or more people to ATIA 2002. The full registration fee is reduced to only $250 per person, a 15% discount from the early bird fee. Note: this cannot be combined with any other special offers for the Conference. To take advantage of this special "Associate Partner" opportunity, registrations and payment do not have to be sent in the same envelope or at the same time, provided that the names of the four (or more) attendees are identified in an email or fax to our office.
ATIA has arranged a special "convention rate" for rooms at the host Radisson Hotel. Sometimes, hotels also make a limited number of rooms available at special "promotional rates", through "packagers" or "wholesalers". Check www.orlando.com to see if there are any special rates that apply to your intended stay at the Radisson Universal on Major Boulevard, Orlando.
