Only The Best is an annual ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) publication including software and multimedia applications that have met the criteria of Only The Best. Only The Best gathers reviews from about 25 software evaluators each year. To be included in Only The Best a piece of software must have received an excellent review by at least two of the evaluators.
Only The Best's evaluators include seven from the field of special education. These include Alliance for Technology Access, Closing The Gap, ConnSENSE, Laureate Learning Systems, Massachusetts Special Technology Access Center, Software To Go, and Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). We are very proud to have been an evaluator for Only The Best for several years.
Only The Best 1998-90 is available in print form: $25 (ASCD members), $29 (nonmembers). There is also a Win/Mac CD-ROM version that includes all listings 1990-98: $125 (members), $150 (nonmembers).
