*Nov 4th *the Carroll Center will offer a hands-on training in *JAWS
*for
professionals who train or support persons who are blind and JAWS
users.
Learn the basics of JAWS screen reader for performing computer
tasks
non-visually, including screen navigation, word processing and
accessing
the internet. You will become familiar with JAWS help tools so
that
you and your students can perform familiar tasks more efficiently
and
master unfamiliar software independently. You will also be
introduced
to configuring JAWS to speak the way your students need. The
cost
for this workshop is $80 and runs from 10 am to 3 pm (lunch
included).

on *November 15th *the Carroll Center will host the upcoming *JAWS
7.0
Workshop *by Eric Damery, Vice President of Software Product
Management
for Freedom
Scientific.
Designed for assistive technology/information technology
professionals,
teachers
of the visually impaired, disability service providers, and
special
educators,this
workshop covers a variety of JAWS topics including:

Interfacing with desktop applications
*
Navigating the Internet
*
Communicating with offsite computers
*
Improved braille support
*
DAISY training material
Participants
can attend one of two free sessions. The first session takes
place
from 9:30 AM to Noon. The second session will be held from 1:30 PM to
4:00
PM. Space is limited, so please RSVP to register for this event. In
addition,
please
indicate which session, morning or afternoon, you plan to attend.
