One
of my first articles for the ConnSENSE Bulletin announced the publication of
the Florida Educational Software Catalog for 1998-99. Well, they've done it
again and it's even better for 1999-2000. This is a collection of educational
software nominated by teachers in Florida. There is a brief review of each piece
of software and an indication of the Florida competencies the software addresses.
The catalog can be ordered from:
Office of Educational Technology
325 W. Gaines Street, TUR 501-B
Tallahassee, FL 32399-0400
850-488-0980
http://www.doe.firn.edu/edtech
The catalog is also available on the Internet:
Downloadable format: http://www.doe.firn.edu/edtech
Searchable database: http://www.itrc.ucf.edu/doecat/
This catalog is a super resource for excellent educational
software. Again, Eileen Pracek is the project coordinator so
you'll see that for each piece of software there is an indication
of the multiple intelligence the software addresses. If any of
you know of any other state that is providing anything as valuable
as this, please let me know so I can share it with all of our
readers. My hat's off to Eileen Pracek, The Florida Department
of Education, The Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System
Network TECH Center, The Office of Educational Technology, and
the Instructional Technology Resource Center at the University
of Central Florida.
