Let's Go Read is an interactive adventure for beginning readers. Children are introduced to letter forms and sounds, learn to recognize individual letter sounds within words, practice combining letters to make words, engage in sight word activities, and use words they have learned to build sentences.
Let's Go Read uses a variety of activities and interactive books to build skills. Children join Robby, Emily, and the Reading Rover on an adventure on Letter Island. The software goes through several different adventures with each letter so the letters and words are presented in several ways with much review. The activities are sequenced to build beginning reading skills. Each child signs in so that the software can keep track of each child's progress and starts them where they last left off.
The program has a speech recognition feature so that the child can practice saying the letter sounds and responses are played back to the child. It contains voice activation so child can control the computer. As the child successfully completes all activities for a given letter or interactive book, that letter and book appear on a letter chart and bookshelf, so the child easily sees his/her progress.
The sound and graphics are excellent. Large, easy to interpret buttons help the child navigate through the program, truly Way Cool software!
