ConnSENSE Hall of Fame InductionPhoto Rebecca Earl

I'm very happy to announce that the first 2005 Inductee to the ConnSENSE Hall of Fame is Rebecca D. Earl, Ph.D. Dr. Earl completed a Masters degree in Special Education at UConn and received her Ph.D. in Special Education Leadership at UConn in 1982..

Dr. Earl began her service at The Connecticut Institute for the Blind/Oak Hill as Assistant Superintendent in 1981. In time Rebecca became Vice President of CIB/Oakhill. In 1999 she and Lee Learson began planning what would become the NEAT Marketplace. After an incredible amount of planning, proposing, and fundraising, a CIB building was rebuilt to become a huge wonderful facility for training with a computer lab, various conference rooms, a library, and a huge Expo facility. The NEAT Marketplace is the best assistive technology facility in New England, but probably one of the very best in the U.S. as well.

In 1999 Dr. Earl approached me about the NEAT Marketplace becoming involved with ConnSENSE. This meeting led to the NEAT Marketplace becoming a major sponsor of the ConnSENSE Bulletin. This support has been significant in the survival of the ConnSENSE Bulletin.
