I received the following
email today from Eugene Knox. I then checked the Computers for Learning
website. It does indeed look as though public and private schools can receive
used computers from the government free. Check out their website at:

============================================
Good afternoon,
My name is Eugene Knox and I work for the USMC. I am currently enrolled
in the Executive Leadership Program and my team is currently working on
a project called "No Computers Left Behind".
The sponsor of our project is Computers for Learning (CFL) which belongs
to General Services Administration (GSA). CFL has government computers that
they provide to any public school that request them, and they are free.
(The schools have to pay shipping and handling cost).
As part of our project, CFL has asked us to help them advertise this information
so schools will know that this service exist. My question to you is how
would CFL go through you to get this information out to our schools? Please
keep in mind that these computers are free to any public school .
Our schools need to know that this information is out there. "These
computers can be use for grades K-12". This is a great opportunity
for our schools and can save them a substantial amount of money.
