I wanted to let those of you in early childhood know about a free online resource that you might find useful. Center for Best Practices in Early Childhood at Western Illinois University has a set of nine online workshops (EC-TIIS: Early Childhood Technology Integrated Instructional System) for educators and families on topics including literacy, expressive arts, adaptations, curriculum integration, and five others. The website is www.wiu.edu/ectiis. You do have to register and complete a couple of short surveys, but the workshops are FREE. They are ongoing and can be accessed at any time. Credit is available in the form of CEUs, CPDUs, graduate credit, or Certificate of Completion. The workshops were developed through a federal grant and content is based on materials from the Center. There are many curriculum activities and articles which can be downloaded and printed from the website.
If you have questions, you can contact me at L-Robinson1@wiu.edu.
