*******************************************************************  National Institute on Disability & Rehabilitation Research  (NIDRR) -- Disability Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP)  (Federal Register: August 29, 2005 [CFDA# 84.133A-5])*******************************************************************Purpose of Program: The purpose of this program is to plan &conduct research, demonstration projects, training, & relatedactivities that help to maximize the full inclusion & integrationof individuals with disabilities into society & to improve theeffectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Actof 1973, as amended (Act).

Applications Available: August 29, 2005.   
Deadline for Transmittal of Applications: October 28, 2005.
   

Eligible Applicants: States; public or private agencies,
including for-profit agencies; public or private organizations,including for-profit organizations; institutions of highereducation (IHEs); & Indian tribes & tribal organizations.   
Estimated Available Funds: $500,000.
   
Estimated Range of Awards: $475,000-$500,000.
   
Number of Awards: 1.

*******************************************************************  Technology & Media Services for Individuals with Disabilities --  Steppingstones of Technology Innovation for Children with  Disabilities (Federal Register: September 1, 2005 [CFDA#  84.327A])*******************************************************************Purpose of Program: The purpose of the program is to: (1) Improveresults for children with disabilities by promoting thedevelopment, demonstration, & use of technology, (2) supporteducational media services activities designed to be of educationalvalue in the classroom setting to children with disabilities, & (3)provide support for captioning & video description that isappropriate for use in the classroom setting.   

Dates: Applications Available: September 1, 2005.
   
Deadline for Transmittal of Applications: Phase 1 --
Development, 10/18/2005; & Phase 2 -- Research on Effectiveness,10/18/2005.   

Eligible Applicants: State educational agencies (SEAs); local
educational agencies (LEAs); public charter schools that are LEAsunder State law; institutions of higher education (IHEs); otherpublic agencies; private nonprofit organizations; outlying areas;freely associated States; Indian tribes or tribal organizations; &for-profit organizations.    Estimated Available Funds: Phase 1 -- Development, $1,200,000;& Phase 2 -- Research on Effectiveness, $1,800,000.    Estimated Range of Awards: Phase 1 -- Development, $100,000-$200,000; & Phase 2 -- Research on Effectiveness, $200,000-300,000.   
Estimated Average Size of Awards: Phase 1 -- Development,
$200,000; & Phase 2 -- Research on Effectiveness, $300,000.   
Estimated Number of Awards: Phase 1 -- Development, 6; & Phase
